Schleicher ASK-16 (1971-1977)
The gracefully designed Ask-16 by Rudolf Kaiser is a favourite among motor glider pilots. It displays good handling capabilities and an excellent speed range and will carry large loads over long distance. Beside retractable landing gear the Ask-16 has a roomy cockpit and it is rather unfortunate that only 44 copies were manufactured by Schleicher at Poppenhausen. Today these machines still remain highly desireable.
