Diamond HK 36 Super Dimona
The HK 36 Super Dimona is a further development of the Hoffmann Dimona. It is made by Diamond Aircraft Industries, in Wiener Neustadt, Austria. The first flight was made in 1989. The most eye-catching change to the Super Dimona was the Rotax engine with power from 81 to 115 HP. For this reason the engine cowl was change. With these engines, and specially with the 115HP strong Rotax 914 F3, the Super Dimona has almost now limits in order of travelling speeds and rate of climbing and is a very good tow plane for gliders too. For those how like to fly “a bit more normal plane „ the Super Dimona can be delivered with a tree legged gear with swivel nose wheel. This configuration will have a little lower glide ratio.
