Promotion Pens

"I am promoting the Scale Soaring UK image and as such I've had some advertising pens made. I am hoping to sell them to fellow flyers etc all money raised to go to Cancer UK.
I intend to sell the pens at events for 60p each or two for £1 should anyone wish to have a pen sent to them then they could email me and I will send one for £1, two for £1.30."

The inscription on the pen is:-

Antipodean Documentation

The Silent Flight Network of Australia has started a new documentation section. Although in its' early days, there are details of several post 1945 gliders with some including ready drawn graphics. This is a great addition to the modelling world.

Retroplane Bonanza - yet again

This time with three zip files of the popular Schleicher two seater, the Ka-7. The photo above is a model of the same full sized as built by Ray Cooper and can be seen in the Documentation section of this site.

Ray advises that the scale colours for this glider are:-

German standard White = RAL 9010.
Yellow = RAL 1018.
Red = Ferrari Corsa 300.12.

There is an on-going rebuild of a full size example taking place in Germany. If you want to monitor the progress see the Project Ka7 website

Arrester tow-line

A court settelment for 30,000 E was made in Dortmund, Germany last week for a woman involved in a freak tow line incident.

She was walking on a public footpath alongside a glider flying field when the 45 meter tow line of a returning tug caught her, dragged her into the air and dropped her onto the tarmac from a height of 3 meters. The woman suffered loss of the spleen, various fractured ribs and neck injuries

Boeing Super Dimona

Yep! you read it right. Boeing has used a Dimona motor glider, built by Diamond Aircraft Industries of Austria, and performed major structural modifications to the aircraft in order to test out their fuel cells to power the plane
