Building the LF 109 Pionyr

And Finally..............

After a long winters labour of love and ready for Spring flying, Gordon has completed his Pionyr and what a beauty it is. Now this really stands out from the crowd and has lots more character than all those glass ships commonly seen. So why not follow Gordons example and build a 'real' scale sailplane

Gordons last words on his project, "This is about as far as I will be going with the project until after I fly it.  There is an all balsa built event the last four days of May (2004), that I will be flying in.  There are 24 scale sailplanes entered, and not one of them are moldies, glassy's, or composite, all of them are balsa wood constructed.  This should be quite an event, along with scale there are over 60 non scale sail planes entered in regular sailplane competition.
Every thing with the exception of the full cockpit detail has been completed.  Am not thrilled with the weight, weighs 13 pounds.  The wing area is a little over 2100 sq. in., which will help a little bit in the loading area.
"

Gordon in his beautifully kept spring garden shows us what can be achieved with a little patience and dedication

THE END

now the fun begins!!
