Multiplex Royal Stick Extensions

Post by ChrisGordon »

Hi folks. I am planning to do a bit more flying this year and have acquired a Royal Evo 9 channel tx which is very nice but the sticks are a bit short. Has anyone any idea where I can get some longer sticks that simply screw in place of the existing ones? I have found some with extra knobs/switches but seek just simple sticks.
Thanks
Chris

Chris,
I don't know the Evo, but have you tried checking if the barrel of the stick unscrews to extend the length.
This is certainly the case on other radios.

Chris,
On the mC4000, you turn the sticks 90 degrees, and then you can pull them up. Not sure if the evo is the same.

Chris
The barrel on the sticks is held in place by a grub screw. Slacken this and you can slide the barrel up the sticks to lengthen them.

Chris, the Royal Pro was shipped with alternative sticks, including short, long and long with additional switches. I guess you got yours 2nd hand and the different sticks were not supplied. Might be worth asking Mike Ridley if he has any spares, I'd let you have mine but they are the ones I use!

Note the sticks on the Royal Pro are different to the Sx (which uses the Profi gimbals).

Thank you so much gents.
The answer is that multiplex seem to supply them.
The set was new (but a special offer) so I shall try the supplier.
I had spotted the tiny screw but allows you to increase the stick length only a little. Still it is something.
I shall let you know how I get on.
I've said it before: great to see the Forum working this way.
Thanks!

Ah the Sx uses the Profi gimbals but with short ends, if you want longer sticks then the standard Profi stick ends should do the job. I have heard of some Profi owners fitting Sx ends so they can thumb fly with it (heretics  ), if you put a wanted ad up you might find somebody with some original ones surplus.
