Hitec vario

Post by catwok »

Ok.... I need some help! I have a Hitec Optimal 9 radio set and I have just bought a Hitec vario unit along with the appropriate sensor station. As usual with Hitec, you get absolutely no fitting or operating instructions! Has anyone got a simple drawing where what wire goes where?

Thanks Paul

I have a Hitec Aurora 9X and Optima 9 and 7 receivers and these have the telemetry ports on them. I don't have the vario or sensor station. There are details on page 16 of the TX Manual for both receivers where the sensor station plugs in. Failing that you can contact Hitec Customer service or go to their web site http://hitecrcd.com/ where there is a wealth of information, there is also a good Hitec forum on RCGroups https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthr ... etups-Tips

Hope that helps.

This may (or may not) help you out.
The new Multiplex website has sections on it for all the Hitec products. But unfortunately is only in German.
If you browse using Chrome as the browser, the translate function does a better job than other browsers.
Go into Hitec sensors and then there are 2 downloads which may have the info on them once translated.

Here https://www.multiplex-rc.de/Downloads/H ... ce--de.pdf

There is also an new MPX tech forum, which could possibly help out which Frank Skilbeck reports as helpful. Again only in German.

I also have an Aurora 9Tx, because I like the engineering, and went round this loop a couple of years back. Whilst you can have the vario displayed it is not possible to obtain an audio output. I even engaged with the Hitec marketing guys in the States who agreed that they had missed a trick there. At that time they had no plans for a fix. Their telemetry isn't the cheapest either. Other options would be to move to Multiplex - high end of the same company or say Frsky loved by some, not all, with very cheap vario's, something I'm actively considering having a play with!!
Sorry to be the one to pour cold water but it pissed me off too at the time!! If it's any consolation I'm not the only one who has had this problem and has jumped ship so as to speak.

Good luck
Roger
