Soarstream Products

Postby John Mcnamara » 22 Jul 2016, 22:43

I specialise in Importing Scale gliders from Paritech, Tomahawk and Old Gliders of Poland. I am an approved Jeti Radio Control equipment dealer, and I also stock MKS servos.
I built my first scale glider in 1976 so I have been around a bit. I am happy to offer advice regardless of whether you choose to do buiness with me or not. Many of you will know me from the forum anyway. Alternatively call me for a chat. I am always happy to talk to glider flyers.

Soarstream - Jet Arrows Models

Postby John Mcnamara » 27 Aug 2016, 08:55

I am now importing the Jet Arrows range of products form the Czech Republic.
The Pilatus Porter makes a perfect tug and is available in two sizes, "small" at 1:4.8 scale and large at 1:4.4 scale.
These can be powered by i.c. engines, electric power, or Turboprop engine.
The Piper Malibu was designed for turbo prop power from the outset, but of course can be powered how you wish. Unlike the conventiontaly built Pilatus the Mauliu is fully composite.
Then there is the Super Blanik. It flies well with the turbine as shown, but equally well as a pure glider too.

New From Old Gliders

Postby John Mcnamara » 18 Mar 2017, 07:31

Old Gliders have released two entirely new designs.
Firstly the very elegant Swiss Elfe P2, at 1:2 scale and 5.3 metres span. This rare and pretty model has wonderful handling due to a very low wing loading, and is sure to turns heads on a sunny summer day.
Secondly the Polish IS-5 Kacka which translate to "Duck". (thats a noun, not a verb!). Yes it is a canard Glider with clamshell airbrakes on the rear fuselage. At 1:2.5 scale and 4.63 Metres this unstallable model Handles well and performs very well too.
Both are available as short kits, which include the plan, CD, All formers and ribs cut, wing joiners, landing gear, canopy and Balsa bundle. (really good quality balsa too!). You must supply the long strip wood for spars etc as this is too long to transport.
Also available as ARC and ARF models.
