Could be an air vent, to get rid of the smell after a difficult maneuver.....

Matt's right, hydraulic brake, used by them to put each one in the correct position in the display by speed and height.
I believe the Hawker Hunter was the pioneering aircraft to use this speed brake. regards Ter
