Fr Sky X 9E or Jeti DC-14

Post by barry h »

I am considering buying a new transmitter. At the moment I am using a Spektrum DX10T which I have to say has been trouble free, I also have some 20 recievers for this radio , so changing everything over requires some consideration. I also use a JR PCM12 but mainly for power only.

I am considering either a FrSky X9E which looks exceptional value for money or a Jeti DC-14 or DC-16 which looks quite expensive but are known to be reliable. But is the Jeti at 4x the price 4x as good a tranny.

Any comments would be appreciated.
Thanks

Cliff. Thank you for your reply.
Am I correct in thinking that the X9E is a Trannis but in European Tray form. I prefer the tray type tranny for Gliding.

Is it possible to extend the recievers from 8 channel as I probably need 10 to cover most eventualities. If I were to get the plug in module for my existing recievers is it just a case of plugging it in the back and add the extra aerial. Presumably when you select a certain model it would work out weather you were using a FrSky receiver or a Spekky one.

Don't know , but you can get a JR one which will do for my Spekky stuff.

On the FrSky site they list different modules.

I don't even know weather i'm going to like it or not ( hope so ) It a dam site cheaper than the Jeti I was thinking of. About a grand in fact.

If you can wait till June you can have a butchers when I'm down.

Jim,
Not from, Frsky, but there may be a 3rd party one. I will inquire.

Jim
On the RC LIFE website it shows a Futaba-Hitec plug in module for £21-50p.

BC, looks the job. Bit pricey though.
Is a module for JR radios compatible with taranis? It says JR radios. Would that also plug into a 9x2?

BH that's for a futaba radio to use frsky receivers, I would the module to covert to hitec receivers.

Interesting I suppose I have no excuse not to buy one if out works with my hitec and futabna receivers.
When are you down Barry? Would like to have a look at your new radio.
