You know when you have one of those flights that feels just perfect?
Well those lovely people at the Yorkshire Gliding Club left the last of their lift for me this evening, and it was a precious time.
A warm breeze swept straight up the cliff and the last embers of golden light skimmed across the Earth, stretching out long shadows. Such a treat to have a proper airfield to land on too. Even the bar stayed open.
I'll live off this one for a long time.

I drop it off the edge, Barry. At 6kg and 4.2m it's not too bad. The enemy is turbulence. It's usually savage within 10m of the cliff, but silky smooth beyond. That's me above the right wing.Barry_Cole wrote:Roger,
How did you launch it???

Ok, got it. I had this vision of the Gliding club being at the bottom of the cliff. The thought of you abseiling down the cliff, while flying was a step too far.

I reckon CW could do it. He'd knit his own ropes too.Barry_Cole wrote:Ok, got it. I had this vision of the Gliding club being at the bottom of the cliff. The thought of you abseiling down the cliff, while flying was a step too far.

And tonight the Super Cub got to fly from the YGC. Honestly, I'm getting spoiled here.

Cub looks good too. I'm still tosing between 1/4 scale electric or this 1/3 scale petrol/electric (quiet !).
Looks like your weather has been good this summer, we're half way thru winter . . brrrrrr.
Keep sending pics, need inspiration for when summer flying resumes here.
