Just to get this thread started...
Last year, a new Lend/Lease agreement, gave me the use of CW's cast off Tandem Falke motor glider.
As usual my "do not leave well alone" attitude soon had me fitting an on board starter, to give that proper motor glider, re-start in the air feeling.
It all works very well, but I found a problem at MW last year. With all the noise from the tugs, I could not hear if the little Zenoah 26 had actually started. After some research, I found that parts we available to fit an RPM sensor to the Zenoah, that would feed back to the trusty Taranis. I am just in the process of fitting the bits to the engine and radio, so I should soon have the nice lady that lives inside the Taranis, saying "Engine Running" and Engine Stopped".
Further news to follow.

Hi Chris,
I am intrigued on this lend/lease agreement Barry says he has with you.
Can anybody join in? What for instance would a yearly all insured lease cost for a Minimoa.I fancy one of those.
When does the lend part stop and the lease part start. or is that a silly question?
During the lend part of the agreement is one allowed to make alterations like Barry has done or are you now going to demand it back from him on default. ?

Re: Just to get this thread started...
I told him right from the beginning that his terminology was wrong...
Lend, assumes that he is ever going to get it back.
Lease assumes that money is going to change hands...
How wrong can one man be...

Going back to the original problem...........you can tell if the motor has started because the propeller starts going round.

Hi Barry,
that is the problem with motor gliders, they have props on them and you can't hear the starting if tugs and more are buzzing around...
I use the picolario as a check. It will tell me when climing out fast(er) again, that way I know the engine is running.
Look forward seeing you fly your converted "real" scaled motor glider
