The Ghost Squadron Presents "Middle Wallop"

19 / 20th of May 2018

Flying 10.00 to TBA

Located on the Army Aircorps base at Middle Wallop in Hampshire this event is one not to be missed. Tugs available for any size gliders and flying from 10am both days till late. Access to the airfield is via the Museum of Army Flying carpark. Pilots are required to book in once on site and proof of insurance will be checked. Camping is available on the Museum carpark from the Friday with departures possible on the Monday if desirable. Questions/queries can be made to Pat Marsden or PM via the SSUK site

Eden Valley Club

 Our annual aerotow event will be going ahead on the 26th of May 2018 with the option of staying and flying off the peg on Sunday and for those who are really keen Friday is also available.  Same friendly low key structure as usual with our renowned hospitality in some outstanding scenery , camping site less than half a mile away.  Site is approx. 11 miles east of Penrith on the A66 in the village of Kirby Thore.  further details if required on 01388 451567 cheers Euan and the Eden Valley Club

Entry forms will be mailed to everyone who attended last year shortly. For anyone who has not yet attended one of these relaxing week long events, entry forms will be available from John

Day pilots will be welcome at both events if you are not planning to camp on site.

Caravans welcome, there will be water supplied by the farmer, a portaloo will be on site, this however is mainly for the ladies. There is a charge of £10 per caravan per night, and £5 per pilot per day. Proof of insurance is required.

Event Information

The fly-in is on the Sunday and is for modern and vintage scale gliders only. (£3.00 entrance fee)(Please note that no IC or Electric powered models are allowed to be flown on the Long Mynd)Sport and Scale gliding, 'off the peg' is available on both Friday and Saturday. We will be camping at Hamperley Camp Site near Marshbrook, from Friday to Monday. See this link for campsite details.  http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/detai ... revid=7219

There will be a camp site BBQ on Friday evening and a pub meal has been arranged at the Plough Inn at Wistanstow for the Saturday evening. (The Plough is ten minutes drive from Hamperley campsite)All are welcome to Friday night's campsite BBQ, but please bring your own food. If you don't have your own BBQ, you may use one of several that will be set upIf you would like to camp over the weekend or come to the Saturday evening meal, please drop me an E-mail or phone on 07921 210629 and I will make the reservations for you.

August  5th

Baldock Aerotow meeting

The NLMFC invite you to their annual aerotow meeting on 5th August. A day of relaxed flying on a superb open site at Baldock in Hertfordshire.

Tugs will be available for all sizes of models and experienced tug and glider pilots will be on hand to help anyone who is new to aerotowing or needs a hand. The flight line will be run by the same team that run Middle Wallop.

The club will be running a BBQ during the day and the site has flushing toilets.

Leek and Moorlands bash

Leek & Moorlands ever popular Scale weekend will be held on the Saturday and Sunday of the 18/19th of August.
Usual format of Saturday being Sport & Scale with the comp (Scale only) on the Sunday, weather dependant so days could be switched.
Prize money to the Best Static, Best Flight & Best Landing.... all in good fun.

Clwyd Soaring Association

will be holding our annual Gliderfest Scale Fly In on our slopes in North East Wales. Meet at the Ponderosa Cafe on the Horseshoe Pass at 10 am each day, from there we will chose a site for the day. Scale models given priority but bring others just in case! Electric 'sustainers' allowed! Please bring proof of BMFA insurance.

Please note that on Sunday 8th October we will be sharing the airfield with some SAM 35 members who fly radio controlled vintage models (No free flight). We do not see any conflict in this with our flying as they will be operating at the other end of the airfield but there may be some frequency allocations needed for anyone who flys on 35mhz on those days.
