Pulling power

Post by Andy Wallace »

Guys would the hangar 9 Pawnee with an 80cc Zenoah twin be capable of towing a 3 or 4 metre glider. I've an Aerotow day coming soon and I'd like to fly the Pawnee
I'm not in a position at the minute to buy a 100cc engine

Thanks
Andrew

Andy,
My tug has a Z62 with a tuned pipe, so much the same power as the Z80. I can tow up 6Mtr 35Lb glider with care.

You should have no problems with 3-4 Mtr gliders.

This one is quite big..

Barry's not wrong! your pawnee and an 80cc engine sound perfect, you'll easily tow 6m models with that, just perhaps a bit more scale than the 100+cc models.

I'd love a pawnee ;)

I've changed from the 3 bladed prop to the recommended 24 X 10 2 bladed prop
