Polyester is simpler to mix, the activator ratio being non-critical, and no measuring required: increasing amounts of hardener merely speed up the curing time... The type of glass mat or cloth used seems not to be an issue (At least, not for the last 35 years!)

Completly agree Chris, only restriction with polyester is the shrinkage . That's why , it's not used for making fuse for example

I seem to remember that Pat Teakle's fuselages were made from polyester... (But then memory is the first casualty of Old Age)

So we now have the pointy end, and the dung beetle end.

Our lives just get better and better.

More silly questions Chris,

I take it you use cyano on the ribs and diagonals and use wood glue for the sheeting?

I can't remember who's is the Petrel in foreground? (I have a feeling it was either Tony's or Pat's) The reason for this question will become clear ;)
