Hi Chris,
starting from your project I made my own design 1/4 scale, 4.5 m of wingspan. I and my dear friend Valerio started the construction of the two glider some times ago, now we are quite at the end.
The first is Valerio's model the second is mine

1st step in making up the elevator is to cut out the elevator false LE, slightly oversize, then hinge it up to the tailplane. Once it has been sanded flush, it can be removed, and the elevator built up over the plan. Then the final LE is added, the hinge slots cut out and the LE rounded off. Finally, the whole elevator is sanded down flush with the tailplane...

With the fuselage removed from the jig, the front end planking can now be completed... (Note: the fit of the 1.5mm ply planking does NOT have to be perfect)

Time now to splash some filler around. Note the tie down strap: that damned wind would have blown the fuselage off the stand without some affirmative action!

Note the use of a proper plastic spreader tool to apply the filler: bent to the contours of the fuselage, this saves a lot of elbow work later on...

With most of the filling completed, the temporary formers in the front of the fuselage can be removed, and the interior glassed with polyester resin and wing joining tape/cloth

Looking now at the back end, the 6mm carbon pushrod is set up to give the correct amount of elevator movement, and the rudder cable guides pre-installed before adding the 0.6mm ply sheeting at the rear...

Now it's time to make up the fin/rudder. This will be fully sorted before glueing to the fuselage, as it's easier that way...
