Vincent,

It's the cantilevered wing Gull 3 - the only one produced and it was modelled on that glider restored by the late Mike Beach at Brooklands here in the UK some years ago now.

My model was at 1/4 scale - just looks bigger on the photo.

Robbie, thanks for your answers, I have seen some pictures of the restauration, very informative! Chris Williams send me more pictures, but because this building report was posted after the Gull was finished, I could just see what I did wrong. If I start a new project I'll will ask first...,
Thanks Phil for your comment :)

Vincent.

Yesterday the Gull had its maiden, nice weather, it went without a hitch. I was a bit afraid that the airbrakes would have little use, but they did work quite well :) . Raymond and his son Jasper took a lot of pictures, (and video's, but you have to wait a bit).

On the pictures it is flying as a Gull I and also as a Gull III or cantilever Gull without struts (I didn't take off the metal fastenings on the fuselage (fuz?) and wings, all those M3 bolts...)
I am very glad is performing well. I build the Gull with Retroplane 2020 in my thoughts, but that is uncertain, hope to see it fly on a slope one day!

Thanks Trevor and Cliff for your nice comments.

I had always flown much lighter gliders, I have to get used to this!

Next project; hmmmm; King Kite? Hjordis? First a lot of flying with the Gull, but its nice to think about a next project, but not before the coming winter! First gathering info.
The Hjordis was painted and the King Kite was also in varnished ply, you see, I am already thinking :?

Thanks a lot Peter and Chris for your encouraging words!

Raymond and his sun Jasper took a lot of video footage? and the onboard camera's also. He worked hard today to edit it all, here is the result

I am very happy that he made such a nice job of that!
