Mick,
I suspect that if you have a notebook with Windows 7 then that machine has disk storage, even if it is a Solid State Drive (SSD) type rather than a whirring Hard Disk type.
To install/update OpenTx, all you need is access to the internet and a USB port on the notebook in order to connect to the Horus.
Essentially, you install OpenTx Companion on the Notebook, then use that to install the OpenTx firmware on the Horus via a USB cable into the back of the unit.
OpenTx Companion also allows you to upload/save model memories etc.

I’m sure that Cliff/Barry/others will chip in later with more detail.

Thanks peter
The more i read the more im confused about the choices, the horus10s, or the 12
The ten is about £70 cheaper but no battery with it or charger (although usually use own anyway ), where as the 12 comes with battery charger, case, and more chanels
And more flexibility with recievers
I think as im writing ive convinced myself to the 12
Anyone had experience of the horus 12 -good or bad
Thanks
Mick

Thanks cliff
That sounds even better , can you use most receivers with it ?
I didnt realise about the charger , hard to get a lot of info from the sites
But its looking good, have you ever heard of any signal props etc ?
Sorry for the third degree
I presume you have the 10 ?, it seems there is a 10s express which i suppose is latest one .
