Servo arm to Graupner servo

Post by LarsWikstrom »

Hi,

I thought I had worn out the gearbox on my Graupner servos and when I checked it was the metal arm in which the splines had been worn down; a first for me.
What brand and model would you recommend for the arms? They are for the flaps servos of a 4 meter glider.

Thanks, Lars

Hi Lars, I'm a little concerned on how the splines on a metal output arm has come to be worn down. The spines should be mated with the output shaft on the servo and held down with the arm screw. There should be no movement once the screw is tightened so in turn there should be no wear. My thoughts are that the output arm splines are not a match for the output shaft and therefor not meshing together correctly. I think it could do with a good coat of looking at before you order.
regards terry.
