R8xr binding problem

Post by roo Hawkins »

I have just taken a rx8r rx out of a model to move in to adifferent model. It was working OK but when I tried to rebind it in none telem mode I am only getting a none flashing red light. Anyone have a idea thanks Roo

Roo,
Have you got the Tx too close to the Rx whilst binding?, try putting >1m from the Rx.
Have you jumpered the right pair of RX channel signal pins depending on whether you want channels 1-8 or 9-16 for non-telemetry mode.
Presumably Tx is set up for D16 operation.

Hi Peter. I have been and looked again and no luck. More than 1 meter apart and try with and without jumpers. Roo

Battery connected correctly, have you connected to the wrong terminals?

Wrong voltage?

Is the jumper on the control pins?

What tx module do you have? Are the switches set to down on the transmitter rear? Check 2.4ghz transmission. Is aerial secure?

Been there done that! Got the t shirt as well......

If all else fails, see if you can rebind it in the original model configuration with original Tx model memory if that is still possible.
If the Rx came out of a damaged model then the Rx may be damaged.

Roo,
Ok then it’s likely to be something simple - but what :?
I would go back to basics, checking that the Tx can bind to another Rx, then tried RX8R setup from scratch out of a model - just Rx & battery.
I can’t see a Red LeD ON state in the RX8R instructions, so not sure if this is a valid state or not.
Presumably you have to set your Tx module to bind using a F/S button. Instructions mention a Red Led during binding procedure, but I think they are referring to one on the Tx, not Rx.

Have you set your radio correctly? On page 2 make sure Mode is set to D16 and when you press bind
select Ch1-8 Telem on. Set the rx first to bind ie power on with button pressed. Should get red light.
When you set tx to bind after a few seconds you should get green. Un plug and take tx out of bind.
You probably know all this but I bound one yesterday ok using the method.
