Pat Teakle gliders Fly-in

Post by matt »

On Sunday the 23rd of June Leek and Moorland Model Gliding Association will be hosting a Pat Teakle gliders Fly-in. The idea is to get as many of the iconic models that have been hidden away dusted off for a super scale fest. Every wind direction except for north is catered for with parking available near the slope. A kit will be donated by Cliff and myself as a prize, there are no fees for the event. Flying will start at 10:30 a.m. until 15:00 for the prize giving. If you have any questions please get in touch with myself on 07740993040. Matt

If anyone requires accommodation the Leek Premier inn is recommended.

I agree Cliff, there are plenty of other B&B's and guest houses. The Green Man is also decent, breakfast included.

If you wish to camp there are lots of local camp sites.

It's looking to be an easterly Sunday, Elkstone slope is a short walk from the car park.

Car park marked:

Many thanks Matt for arranging the fly-in today - I had a wonderful day's flying in great company and with the glorious Peak District as a backdrop. I'm ashamed my ASW20 has being lying idle all these years for no good reason. I'd forgotten how well the PT designs fly! It's been like discovering an old friend.

All the best to the Leek and Moorland flyers and hope to see you in August.

I just wanted to thank Cliff for his generous sponsorship of this event. The 1/5 scale Dart kit is an absolute peach: sharp laser-cutting and a very crisply molded fuselage.

Of course I'll wait until Brian's finished his so I can shamelessly steal all his good ideas. :D
