Well what a great weekend at Milson, my second visit and best so far. I was lucky to be able to drive up from Kent on Friday morning, so I had the whole afternoon for flying with plenty of lift. Saturday was just fantastic - I flew the Ikura in the early lift, and then later when the many pilots turned up, I switched to tugging, and had a thoroughly enjoyable day doing that. The old Porter is pretty frugal on fuel, so I used less than a gallon of fuel, for a running time of nearly 4 hours. The Rx batteries are less frugal, and I used over 8000mA during the day, and nearly 3000mA of ignition battery! Milson is an interesting place to fly, whether tugging or gliding - so many ‘features’ to keep you on your toes. But it is a magic spot that feels miles from the busy world.

So a big thanks to Ray for arranging such a chilled event, and towing me up for my gliding flights. Thanks also to Chris for lending us the field. Special mention to Mandy also for the tasty flightline treats. A great weekend in great company.

Yes an excellent Saturday with more folk than I've seen there before.
Thanks to Ray, Chris and Mandy for organising and pastries and also to Frank S for MPX programming duties!
Just had a nice ride down again on the motorbike last night to pick up my camping chair which I forgot to pack when leaving.
Looking forward to September

Hi all

Just a reminder that we are back at Milson from Friday 20th to Sunday 22nd September so only a week and a half away. You can camp for longer if you want and we aim to be there Thursday evening through to Monday lunchtime.

The NOTAM has arrived for the 3 days so we're just hoping for good weather now.

See you there

Ray and Mandy
It's always calmer indoors :D
