Hello from Adelaide SA

Post by Stephen Portelli »

Hello, scale glider aficionados, one and all.

My name is Stephen Portelli (AKA Propnut). Long-time hobbyist, returning to the aeromodelling fold after a lengthy distraction with 1/48 static models - http://saplasticmodellers.com.au/galler ... ndex.shtml

Started in free flight as a kid, and remain convinced it is the purest form of aeromodelling, bypassed control line and got into RC with a Gentle Lady, 40 years ago (when I had ambition and hair) it still flies like a charm off the slope, always been into scale and have a couple of scale RC gliders, with more on the way. Some great slope sites here in SA which I enjoy and I fairly recently got into aero-towing. Talk about pucker factor for that first tow!

That’s me in a nutshell. Just want to say thanks to the organisers of the site/forum – it’s a great resource.

Cheers
Stephen

Hi Stephen and welcome to the forum. Some impressive plastic kits there. Like the Ju88 and the Mc 202.

Thanks, Cliff I do like the historical research part of the build and the painting/weathering. The JU-88 got 2nd place the year it was entered in the Aust Nationals. Conversely, I find that building with balsa and plywood is more rewarding.

cheers
Stephen
