I think I'll have to do a bit more of a forum activity drive, I know there are many more of us Down Under, I suggest BookFace has a fare bit to do with the lack of activity here, I shal investigate further,

Barry Cole mentioned some time ago that for a big country there are not many of us in the scale glider business

For what it is worth I will try to bring things in perspective
The country is big 7.7 million km2 in area , 32 times that of the UK (243610 km2) The land area is larger than the USA without Alaska.
Population 23 million, only 1/3 of the UK with 64 million. give and take a couple.
I would think that in Australia the percentage of model pilots to total population is the same.

The population is spread out over a large area's
For some tow meetings sometimes one has to drive two days or 1500-2000 km you will not do that every month.

There are local scale glider groups formed by members of model clubs in more populated area's but members numbers are not that high.
Because of the weather we can fly most of the times all year around and do not need to compress events in summer months only

Good Points you make, Jilles, I wish myself I could get to more of the events more regularly but my job and a large family make make that still a little tricky, I do plan to try and get across to victoria on occasions just to catch up with the broader community involved in scale soaring here in the land down under. South Australia has a good core group of scale enthusiasts and I feel the activity here is on the increase again with an event almost every month in the calendar for aerotowing and a point that I like is that its not always at the same field, variety is the spice of life as they say.

Hi Lawrence,
See the "posting images" guidance in the Announcements < Forum Admin Notices section for information on how to do this.
Note the max. image size of 400kb.
All pretty straight forward, but note that you sometimes get an image that fails to load properly 1st time around. If that happens then just delete it and retry.
