New Tug

Post by IanT-White »

I wondered if anyone was interested in my "new tug" , probably the earlist scale tug .
Its my two thirds scale 1913 Ponnier racer recently fitted with a tow release and used to tow up my friend Piers Palfryman,s ASW28 glider
For those interested its 16 feet span , weighs 132 lbs and is powered by a French JPX 425cc two stroke flat twin.
It has scale wing warping which is "interesting" to fly , now in its 6th year.

Hi Ian

Well, its certainly different. But, if it can tow up a glider then its all good.

By the looks of the plane at 132lbs and with 425cc it’d be the first flying fence! A fence ain’t going to stop it!!
