Marks Models Wanderer - enlarged Outerzone plans

I am currently planning a build of a large version of the Wanderer and was looking for advice on whether to stick with slab type fuselage sides from 3mm ply or go for a balsa stick type construction. Wingspan (enlarged) is going to be around 30 feet. I’d like to keep it light enough for an electric motor in the AXI 4xxx series range. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Raja,
Welcome to the forum.
Do you really mean 30ft? (I suspect you might mean 3 metres?)

I'm not sure Peter - have you seen the chord of those wing ribs!? :o

Welcome to Scalesoaring, Raja.

Rog,
Perhaps Raja can explain.
The AXI4120 motor for example is only capable of powering a glider up to 4Kg or so.
A 30ft glider would require quite a bit more than that ;)
