Hacker motor choice

Guys and gals,

I'm struggling to get the Hacker motor people to understand my needs, I realise I don't speak German, so that much is my fault...

My Ash works amazingly well on a 14x10, but I'd like to go smaller with the same power output, like 12.5 or 13".

Does anyone know of a motor that might meet this requirement, there's a turbine EDF motor on the Hacker pages that looks like it might:

I need to know so I can order the torcman stuff with the right shaft sizes.

Cheers, Ell.

Hi Ell
That's a mighty powerful motor you show in the link. It recommends 8S and has quite a high RPM/v for its size.
So much depends on the model size /weight you want to strap it to. Maybe you can provide that

Hi Jez!

as an example, the ASH, at 1/3 scale is about 12Kg and 2000w on the 14x10, looking for something with higher Kv that will give me the same power.

I thought an EDF motor might be okay if I could find one with low enough Kv...

The ASH performs really well on the 14x10, it's just prone to catching.

There is now an excellent calculator / set up finder on the Hacker website you can use FOC here:-

Hope that helps

Eliot,
What is the Kv of the motor that you are using, and how many cells??

Thanks to the Hacker motor calc, I've just found these motors which look promising. Also very reasonably priced.
