Pat teakle salto fuselage

Post by roo Hawkins »

A bit of a long shot but has anyone got a pat teakle fuselage that they do not want. The salto fuselages are not available anymore.

Hi guys, did you know that Pat also did a 1/5 scale Salto.I bought three from him in my time, lots of fun,I will try and find a few photos for you. :D
A word of warning. The wing section on the 1/4 scale was not the best for this model. Pat himself would agree that if asked. Discussing this with him (a long, long time ago) he told me that he had thought of a change to the section. However as the section was already part of the fus mold it would take a lot of work to alter, and at that time the sales of the Salto didn't warrant such an input of work. Perhaps now with the resurgence of the Salto it would be a good time to make the revamp. I think that with a good wing and a strong epoxy fus it would sell really well. Just a thought. :D

Just spoken to Pat Teakle who says that the original Salto wing used a Ritz1 section.
He thought that the Ritz3 (as used on the PIK20 & Vega) would go better.
He still remembers the 1/5 scale version Terry :)
