Chris's ASW22, a beautifully built model and a well thought out installation was held aloft by my son Rick,Exact wind directions checked, last wiggle of the sticks. Haven't we all been there, the trepidation of every thing having been double checked and checked again. Chris is an excellent flyer who flies his Alpina as often as not on our local slopes and has gone through this scenario many times in his life. However this time it was a little different. Having always dreamed of a full glass ship modelling the full size ASW22 he decided it was time to take it off his bucket list  and go for it.He spent time doing his research of what was available on the market, then settled for the 1/5 scale Baudis.

Not a cheap purchase by any means, but when one looks closely at the product one can see why. This model is perfect in every way, flawless is the word. Chris had waited several weeks waiting for the correct wind to blow on our favorite slope and today was that day.

A final deep breath, a nod to Rick and the model was sent airborne. Every one of us who have been in this position knows it is going to be in the next three seconds whether it decides its going to fly or not, The next three seconds will tell whether you can breath normally again.

Off she went out of Ricks hand as good as gold and It was a good full minute before Chris decided a click or two of up-trim would slow her down a little and be more into thermal lift sniffing mode. A touch of thermal flap as well and she was away. What a machine.

Another flight or two later and a settling cup of tea saw Chris well into his new machine.I predict that in the next few weeks we will see him throw it about in the sky like he does his Alpina.

Well done Chris, super model and glad to have been of help. Ter and Ric.
