Fafnir II Sao Paulo

Post by djfawcett26 »

Hello, I was doing some research on the Fafnir II Sao Paulo. After the canopy mold line was changed to blend into the nose, the aircraft was painted. Here is the question, does anybody have a clue what color the Sao Paulo was painted? I have searched high and low without finding an answer. Thanks

It never fails, when you ask for help the next place you look the answer will be staring you in the face. I found the color in the VGC winter 1998 newsletter. It is bright blue. What that actually means, I do not know, but it is a good start. Best Regards

Check this model for the colour scheme, although most models seem to appear in the natural wood. Also included the full size in colour and the instrument panel pre colour change

I wondered about the extra padding around the instruments at the top of the panel? In line with the pilots forehead?

If you are thinking of going ahead with the Sao Paulo, then best talk with me about 3-view errors

Hi Vince, I have not made a final decision as to which sailplane to start. It is between the Sao Paulo, Hutter 28 III, or Lawrence Sailplane (not Yankee Doodle, but the first gull wing sailplane done by Don Lawrence-picture attached). Thanks for the offer. If I decide to do the Sao Paulo, I will contact you for sure. All the Best, Dave

I had a go at creating a 3-view for the Fafnir 2. The wing/fuselage transitions were particularly difficult, so don't be hard on me
