Aeronaut brass/steel wing joiner alternative

Post by StephenB »

It seems the 16mm Graupner/Aeronaut brass tube system is no longer available.

I have a short kit of the Chris Willimas A-Spatz that needs building and the plans specify this wing joining method, I have plenty of the 13mm but can't lay my hands on the 16mm.

Any suggestions for a viable alternative?

Stephen,
We tend to use 15x2 steel strip & 16x3 brass box joiners now.
This is available in the UK in 1m lengths, but suppliers will often cut in half to reduce shipping costs.

Yes,
I’ve just had same response after sending them an email earlier today to enquire.
Maybe that prompted a stock update?
