Hi all,
Can anyone help identify this fuse? I need to buy/build some wings for it, but would like to know what it had when new...
There's a suggestion it might be a South coast sailplanes model? Seems to have square drive in the wing root. Tail feathers fit just above the tail boom.
Leng this 140 cm
There’s a sticker saying “use polyester based adhesive/resins, not epoxy”
Servos are branded “Fleet”
cheers,
Marc
and
A few more pics...

Hi Marc. The fus is undoubtedly a 'Diamond' made by John Hall in Bristol. He makes all the fuses for the Pat teakle range of gliders both before and after Pat use to kit them. I flew a Diamond for many years and loved it.Made of Polyester resin bonding chopped strand matt as you say,so use the same as an adhesive.
It supported a 2.5-3 mtr wing as I recall, and I believe the section is a 'thinned' Eppler 197. It favors a slight sweep back to the wing as the nose moment is quite short, making the c/g balance difficult. So Keep the tail end as light as you can.
Cliff Evens is in touch with John and may be able to help you with more info. Hope this helps. Regards Terry.

Thanks Terry,
A quick google resulting in this image:
https://goo.gl/images/Qy5ZVJ
Which looks pretty close to my fuse! (There was a suggestion it was Solent Sailplanes, not South-coast and that it was a Dassel clone/copy by them)
My thoughts re wings are:
a. locate an original set (not too hopeful)
b. build a set
c. once I know what size is suitable, look to adapt a modern set; x-models, RCRCM etc all supply wings on their own, then I can get the composites guys at the office to make a blended jointing section.
thanks,
I'll PM Cliff!
thanks,
Marc

Fab!
Would that be a slope focused wing or flat/all rounder?
Laser cut or plan? (or foam / exotic )
