Hi
Im ply covering a Reiher build and Im using 0.4mm ply.
Works well using the wood glue letting it dry technique
and then ironing the ply to the frame.

looking good , i’ve already covered the frame in ply, so it would be on top of that.
not sure if it would be too much weight

if you have already ply on the fuse no need to put an other ply layer on top
It does not matter if you apply 0.4, 0.6 0,8 mm ply as long as it is ply.
The trick is to get nice overlaps at ply panel joints. It is also helpful to prevent any any glue to come in contact with the outer ply surface because they will show up later when finishing. I used wood stain before varnishing to get the what darker color
Attached some pictures on my Fokker baby and the Dutch version of the Early primary glider ESG
Both have stained and varnished surfaces. You will note that despite the wood stain you see differences in color between ply sections
This is completely at scale because the prototype had this feature as well.
