Another Charlesworth K-18 question - CG location

Post by harry curzon »

In Cliff's original magazine article he states that the CG should be at 1/3 root chord. That would place it at 96mm from leading edge. On the Sarik and lasercutsailplane plans it is marked at 74mm which is roughly 1/4 chord. I cannot see a CG marked on the photo of the plan in the original article.

Can someone who has built this model tell me which is correct?

Hi Harry, I have just measured it on the plan and the range is 80mm to 94mm but I know I set mine to 25% for the first flights then moved it rearward to suit me, I think it settled on 30%, hope this helps.

Thanks Keith, that helps a lot. What plan have you got that shows the cg range?
