Do I need one?
Which is best, the Robbie, a DIY effort or can I manage with my iPhone and its inclinometer or maybe an app?

Re: Incidence gauge
Should be ok with your phone, they are reasonably acurate.

Re: Incidence gauge
Stephen, they are accurate but it would be best to cobble together something to secure the phone and not rely on the side face of the phone itself. This will also ensure it doesn't move when transferring wing to tail etc.
Also, whichever app you use make sure you calibrate it against something you trust.
