I think CW in the 90s? To 1/3 scale. Commercial grp fus and built up wings.

Well remembered, Rog...The 3rd scale model came with foam wings and seemed to fly OK. Then, for some reason, (probably crash-related) I made a set of built-up wings and deviated from my usual HQ 3.5 thickness and went HQ 2.5 instead. The result was not good, to all intents and purposes the model was unflyable, despite several attempts over the years to make it so.

If it's any consolation Chris, the full size wasn't much better :)

Reichardt Models produce a version of this at 4m Wingspan.

http://www.reichard.cz/en/models/gliders/libelle/

I had one for about 4 years before I lost sight of it at the top of a tow launch, too high and very poor visibility conditions, bad decision to fly that morning.

The model itself flew very well (Airfoil indicated as a HQ3013 section off the Reichardt site) although landing with the flaps took some getting used to.
Once I understood the flight characteristics of the landing flaps, you could literally drive it in for the landing with the tail often in a very high stance.
Very different to spoilers in flying but a bit of fun.

I wished I still had my Libelle as it was the go to model in light conditions. I would purchase another today if I had the chance.
