Re: WHO'S BUILDING WHAT FOR 2021
Here is my plan built Jantar by Mike Trew , About 145 inch if memory serves.
Built up fuselage/cnc foam wings and tailplane, with full depth ply spars and carbon capping with epoxy bonded 1/16 balsa.I departed from the plan joiner, I used 18mm carbon tube instead.
Cheers.
Dave

Re: WHO'S BUILDING WHAT FOR 2021
I think the original MT plan would have used at least 10x2 if not 12x2 steel joiner strip & brass box.
Your wing spars may be strong enough, but a 10mm carbon tube joiner sounds a bit weak & likely to snap at a wing/fuselage joint under reasonable g loads during flight.
If your joiner is actually a tube then it’s probably worth at least epoxying a close fitting high strength steel bar inside the tube as this won’t affect your completed wings & fuselage.
I have a 3m Discus & that uses an 8mm or 9mm carbon steel rod joiner.

Less of of a "build" more of a "rebuild" / refurb of a (new to me) used Alpina (clone)
It was naked glass/resin a few weeks back, its now base coated and awaiting a (slightly) warmer day to start some top coats.

Re: WHO'S BUILDING WHAT FOR 2021
Just about to start building the 3.5m version of Chris Williams HW4-Flamingo. As I can't source brass box & steel blade as wing joining here in France I'm thinking of using 14mm carbon tube in the wings & fuselage and a 12mm steel rod as the joiner. Importing the brass/steel solution costs twice as much as carbon/steel method.
I would appreciate the views of more experience hands than mine as to whether this sounds like a sound scheme.
