Tow hook servo strength

Post by Phill Tadman »

Hi all,

I’m hoping to use a Schambeck compact tow release for my rebooted ~14kg Antares.

The pictured servo only has about 7kg torque but I have an 8kg torque HV servo that fits.

Do you think this will be strong enough?

Thanks,

Phill

It all depends on how the tow release works.

Can you post more pics from different angles??

:? :? :? :?

The tow release is a rotating barrel design.

Here are some pictures from above and below in various states of opening:

Phil,
From the lok of the photos, it seems that the load on the line is trying to pull it into the open position, so I don't think you should have any problems with the servo that is fitted. However always test it before use.
