Aeronaut Bergfalke Mu 13e

Post by John Deeming »

Hi all,
Is there anyone who has built an Aeronaut kit of the Bergfalke Mu-13e who could give me a rough idea of how much nose ballast is required for this model in as designed form? I ask because I will electrify mine and it will be useful to know how much leeway I have for motor, esc, and battery to keep close to the designed 3.9 kg. weight. Any help will be appreciated.

John, I built one of these for aerotow and slope, there are two ballast boxes in the nose, I didn't weigh the ballast but both ballast boxes are full of strips of lead, so quite a lot, I don't think you will have any issues with a motor and battery making it nose heavy,

If I get chance I will take the ballast out and weigh it.

Mine is a good flier, but it's no floater.

John, I had a look at mine this afternoon, it has around 650 grams of lead in the nose, plus the Rx battery say another 100 grams, you'd also save the tow release servo and MPX tow release I have in mine. Hope that helps
