This has been my winter build I thought initially as a slope trainer but on second thoughts I'm going to build a rudder elevator slope trainer as I already fly a 2m electric RES glider.

Re: Phoenix model products Stage2 mk2
Dave,
If you already fly a RES model, you shouldn’t have much difficulty with the Stage 2, other than getting used to slope lift & slope-side landing situations.
The Stage2 should be much more manoeuvrable than a RES model, so you will need keep a bit more of an eye on it to prevent a slow turn developing into a spiral dive etc., but landing in breezier conditions should be easier as you have quicker response to a dropped wing. Once trimmed out, it should be fine.
Hopefully, you can find an experienced slope soarer to show you the ropes on a nearby slope & check out the model.
As you may be used to using spoilers for landing, you may want to think about mixing in a little bit of Up on both ailerons using your normal Spoiler control input (assuming your radio is capable of this). This will help lose height on the approach & also reduce tip stall tendency as it effectively creates washout, although on a small wingspan model that isn’t so much of an issue.

Thanks I did wander if it was necessary Stan includes movement details for spoilerons so I will program some in I am a member of Dartmoor Slope Soaring Club but most flying seems to happen on flat field the slope guys seem to be a covert bunch but I have met a couple of them. We just need slightly less than the 90mph winds we had yesterday!
