Air Ambulance

Post by Jolly Roger »

I was outside the workshop yesterday when a helicopter circled very low overhead and landed just over the hedge. It turned out our neighbour had collapsed so they sent the air ambulance because we live in the sticks. He’s had a night in hospital but is ok now.
Bizarrely this is the second time we’ve had the air ambulance land in the field. 4 years ago my wife fell off a ladder and suffered serious head trauma. The helicopter was with us in 10 minutes and saved the day. The medics were absolutely fantastic and I can’t praise them highly enough. As it happened, the whole episode was filmed for one of those helicopter emergency series and is repeated occasionally.
I think we’re so lucky to have this service in our country, even though it survives on charitable donations.
