Frsky ETHOS?

Post by Jolly Roger »

Hi folks,

Has anybody tried Frsky’s ETHOS, specifically in their X20 transmitter?
How easy is it to set up a model for somebody used to menu-driven programming and with no FROS or Open Tx experience?
I just want it to be easy to set up a basic model, with some simple flap/aileron mixes. I am a bear of very little brain.
Thanks for all ideas.

Rog

Stay with OTX, there is more help around.

Hi Roger, I have one. I have found it to be very good. The programming is quite easy, the Ethos system was written by one of the OpenTx team and is based on that system but with a much better interface. I have pm'ed you my number if you wish to discuss further.

Hey folk,

anyone tried to implement Barry's excellent idea of tug tow release on full throttle in landing mode?

I had the release on a switch - worked fine.
Made the logic switch for the landing phase panic release, worked fine.
Can't get the normal release to work in the landing phase, seems the panic switch has negated it's influence...

Any help gratefully received.

Ta, Ell.

Elliot,
You can give me a ring if you want, I have an idea what it might be.

See any old e-mail of mine for my number.
Mixer page.jpg
This is the mixer page that does the emergency release. In this case it is Logical switch L22, that makes the release operase, by forcing the servo output to -100. This line only has any effect when L22 is active, and then the "Replace" option makes it override the normal switch mixer line.

I have not seen Ethos in the flesh, but I guess it is much the same.
Hope that helps.

Hey Barry, thanks for the info, I went back to my original idea and changed the mixer mulitplexing and it worked - I now have full release control in any phase, plus the panic release in landing mode.

Cheers, Ell :)
