Hello all,
Im currently building a nice grunau baby 2 from Island Models . 1/4 scale.
Slightly confused by the set up employed for incidence.
Wing section is HQ3512 set at 1.5 degrees, all fine.
Stab is set at 0 degrees along main longeron. Should this not be matching the wing ?
The designer is adamant its fine but as their are no recorded flights of this design on the internet, Im not sure...
Any thoughts??

Re: Odd incidence set up query
Hi Adam, I would trust what the manufacturer says, the model has been built and flown as is for a good while now. If you change the incidence of the tailplane, it will not "sit" correctly in the air. I have the plan and have looked at it and compared it to Cliff Charlesworths plan which also has the tailplane set at 0° whilst the wing is set at 1.5° and I would certainly trust Cliff's plan.

Adam, flying an HQ3512 at 1.5° will be just fine and give a good 'sit' in the air with that incidence relative to a 0° tailplane setting.
