Sad news, but a life well lived.
We corresponded a few times by email and his replies were always thoroughly detailed and often based on first hand experience. His sailplane books are peerless in my opinion.

I met Martin at Dunstable, many moons ago - lovely chap.
The range of scale drawings he produced and published in his books was remarkable.
I greatly admired his approach of openly flagging up drawings that were his best effort in the face of inadequate information - both brave and honest.

Sad to hear of Martins passing. I corresponded with hime many years ago as we were both researching the PWS 102 Rekin. We both desined one to 1:4 scale but Martin actually built his.
A real gentleman and very knowledgeable.
