Slingsby T45 Swallow - dihedral angle?

Post by Stephen Toy »

Can anyone please help? - I am building a Tony Slocombe designed Slingsby Swallow and cannot identify the correct dihedral angle to use.

The magazine article (Radio Control Model World) states "...the root rib should be angled by 5 deg", but the plan states "Dihedral = 35 mm Per Rib" " Top surface: 5 deg Thro Rib CL". The wingspan is 129", 1:4 scale. I assume the '35 mm Per Rib is for each wing-tip, if so that would set the angle per wing half @ around 2.2 deg.

Does any have experience building from this plan and can advise?

Kind regards

Stephen,
An angle of about 2 degrees sounds about right to me.

Thanks for your prompt response - you've confirmed my thoughts, saves me some work as I had already cut the joiner box for 2 deg.

Kind regards
