hi
im building a 1/3 scale ka8b and want to remove the fin for transport etc
but obviously want it to be secure when flying
has anyone any ideas or pictures to help

Hi Mick
I always use the Charlesworth method and it has never been an issue.
A steel rod is built into the rear face of the fin, sufficient length protrudes beneath the fin to allow the rod to go full depth into a brass tube let into the stern post of the fus.
A vertical ply plate is also built in to the underside of the fin. This enters a slot in the fus. A hole drilled thro' the sides of the fus and the vertical ply plate. The fin/rudder is secured by passing a suitably sized brass tube thro' the fus and the hole in the vertical plate. The tube is retained by sliding a piece of fuel tubing on each end.
