Re: Future plans
Talk to Midland Gliding Club, they hated their full size one.
Re: Future plans
have flown in one as a passenger / pupil,
not the best glide in world has to be said, quick and snappy, but once on way down that’s it
just an usual shape.

Re: Future plans
SZD 36 Cobra, a beautiful plane and rarely modelled.
Would be marvellous in 1:3 scale, and I'd definitely build one after the 1:3 Jaskolka and all the other stuff on my list...

Did you see Skyhawk's scratch-build on this site? Beautiful craftsmanship. viewtopic.php?f=12&t=1351

Re: Future plans
Great news! This is such a beauty. Would it be possible to scale it up to 1/2,5?

Re: Future plans
Yes, that's great news Cliff. Looking forward to seeing your solution to the Fowler flap hinging.

Re: Future plans
The earlier types of the SZD-8 had Fowler Flaps unlike the popularly modelled 'bis' and later series which the plan is based on. From factory drawings of the 'bis', there appears to be no rearward movement of the flaps with the flap just dropping away slightly from the wing rear edge whilst rotating, creating only a slotted flap.
The fuselage difference between early and later series Jaskolka is in the nose detail as can be seen from this 3-view. The John Watkins model plans are quite correct for the early Jaskolka.

Cliff/Vince
Any chance of 1 14 scale version of the flap hinges being produced?
