Chis W was not the only one who looked 'odd' in shorts!

This is a nervous looking moi at the test-flight of the Solent Sailplanes 1/3 ASW-17. Flew well but had a horrble habit of 'wagging its tail' if the airbrakes were deployed at too higher speed. The boom at the base of the fin was too flexible.

Is that Kimmeridge bay in the back ground?

That is Kimmeridge. A wonderful flying sight in Dorset. A long ridge with a big smooth catch of sea air. We flew there in the 80s, flying from behind the stone wall ,walking the long path and good landings in big fields behind the foot path.
Regards John.

I flew there often in the past. We cannot fly there now due to a large cell phone relay aerial installed in the only take off and landing area. The stone wall and fields beyond mentioned in Johns post is now cordend off by a new barbed wire fence with no stiles or gate to allow access.
