Monoblock

Hi,

I need to install a new set off Monoblock in a glider, however, I seem to have lost the instructions.
I have been trying to contact both Let Modell and Paritech. Let Modells seems to have an invalid email and Paritech has not replied.

Does anyone have a set of instructions on how to install them?

Thanks, Lars

Lars, maybe this is no help to you, but me and another scale modeller fitted Monoblocks in large scale gliders without any instructions supplied. It was very easy , but it was over 20 years ago and they still work. Regards John.

Hi John,

Many thanks, I think you are right, as long as there is a 90-degree angle against the fuselage.

Thanks, Lars

Lars, they really are no problem to fit. Just make sure the male and female fittings are aligned. Bond and fibre glass the main bodies in the fuselage root. There is plenty of adjustment on the "mushroom" fitting to get a good grab as the wings engage. They are the best coupling device for large wings I have used. Regards John.

How do you make them release?

Grab the wing at a hard point and pull. The Monoblocks come at various tension settings. The ones on my ASH 26 are set for 6 kg pull release. Regards John.

Is it similar to the Multiplex Uniloc wing retention system (peg in an expanding ring) or something completely different?

Found a pic of what may be the wing end as fitted to an ASH31.
Seems to comprise a waisted pin which engages in a fuselage mounted sprung clip of some kind.
Essentially a similar mechanical action to the MPX Unilocs although in metal rather than Nylon or similar material.
