6m Phoenix K8
I had the opportunity earlier this year of taking over a re-vamp job of a 6m K8. The model with dodgy wing spar! The previous owner had done a good job of doing the necessary strengthening of the wings and some impressive work on replacing the fuselage longerons with dowel which creates a better scale affect. I then set about doubling up all the lower fuselage formers with hard balsa.
The entire airframe was stripped of the plastic iron on film which and painted with PVA wood glue before covering with Diatex 1000. This then had 3 coats of 50/50 dope and thinners before being sprayed with 2k paint.
