Greetings from Charente Department in SW France

Hello everyone. My name is Nigel and I came to live in France in 2008 to build a house on a green-field site overlooking a wide river valley. My principle pastime since arriving has been sailing all over in the Mediterranean but with advancing age I've forsaken the sea and have taken up my former hobby of RC glider flying.

In my very rural location there are quite a lot of hills but mostly covered with trees and limited flying sites. There is one superb slope site overlooking the Charente river but it is limited to westerly winds. Here is a link to a YouTube video of the site:

Every Spring & Autumn we have thousands of European Grey Cranes migrate though the area and frequently they soar & thermal in the rising air of the valley slope in front of & over my house. I'd love to fly a glider amongst them equipped with a camera.
